January

January 1: 15 members of the Jamilat tribe were executed after refusing to join ISIL(Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant).

February

On 7 February 2015 three separate bombings in Baghdad, the capital city of Iraq, killed at least 36 people. At least 70 people were also injured.On 9 February two more bombings occurred in Baghdad, one in Kadhimiya and the other in a northern Baghdad suburb. These bombings killed a total of at least 15 people.

June

June 23: Suicide bombing kills two soldiers, injures 8 others in southwest of Ramadi.

June 27: ten people killed in a "routine" bombing.

July

July 17: A suicide car bombing occurred in the Iraqi city of Khan Bani Saad, targeting a local marketplace.

July 19: 130 people were killed in the bombing, with a similar number of injured. Several people were killed by collapsed buildings. The bomb was hidden under an ice truck in an attempt to attract more people amid the heat. Responsibility for the attack was claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)

August

August 13: a bomb-packed refrigeration truck was detonated. At least 76 people were confirmed to have been killed in the bombing, with at least 212 more injured.Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack.

October

October 3: At least 18 people have been killed and more than 60 wounded in twin suicide bombings in Baghdad.

November

November 13: 26 people died as a result of a terrorist attack in Baghdad.
